  Tourist Office of La Louvesc and Val d'Ay

The tourist office of La Louvesc and Val d’Ay and its ten communes are glad to welcome you : Ardoix, La Louvesc, Préaux, St Alban d’Ay, St Jeure d’Ay, St Pierre sur Doux, St Romain d’Ay, St Symphorien de Mahun, Quintenas, Satillieu, around the Ay river that is to sayan area of about 19000ha for a population of 8684 inhabitants. The Val d’Ay spreads from the vallée du Rhône (altitude 300m) to the Haute Loire with the cold u Rouvey at an altitude of 400m and a very hill mountain area.

The agriculture is well represented St Joseph A.O.C. (label guaranteeing the origin of wine an chesse) wine grower, goat cheeseproducer of Piccodon de l’Ardèche A.O.C., the brand of potatoes “la Truffole”, sheep and cattle farmers, vegetables and fruits producers.

The industry, from a very old tradition, based on textile, goes through a serious crisis. New companies set up, others have already been there for several years, like the S.A.M.O.V. that builds electric motors. Tourism is also a tradition with the Holy place of La Louvesc, a sizeable hotel business, camp sites, rural holiday cottages and other seasonal renting.

Come and discover this part of the Ardèche thanks to 220km of marked footpath, its warm ans welcoming people, the nature, the nature still preserved and majestic forests, lots of historic sites such as the Welsh-Roman ruins of “l’oppidum du Chirat” Blanc and the listed church of Veyrines (11th centuary A.D.).
